Who Can Incorporate in Nevada?
When you are searching for a place to form your business you will likely come across many candidates but only one of those will be perfect for your business. If you live in Nevada, then your best bet will be to incorporate Nevada so that you can take advantage of all of the amazing benefits that accompany such a business formation. You might be wondering if you and your business are able to form a Nevada corporation; in nearly all cases the answer is going to be a resounding yes. There are few businesses or individuals who are not able to set up shop in Nevada.
To incorporate Nevada you must first determine what kind of business you will have. Most types of business are able to incorporate with very few exceptions and those exceptions are most of the time able to still do business just not as corporations. For example, doctors and lawyers and other service type businesses may not form corporations; rather they must form professional associations. There are also professional corporations but they differ from regular corporations in that they do not offer their owners as much asset protection since they are providing professional services.
Businesses who plan to do the majority of their business within the state are perfect candidates to incorporate Nevada. That doesn’t mean that all of your business must be done in the state; in fact very little business has to be done in the state but you will be required to have a headquarters (legal mailing address) and a registered agent who can accept service of process on the corporations behalf. As long as you can maintain a headquarters address and a registered agent then you can do business as a corporation in the state of Nevada. Even if you don’t live in Nevada, there are companies who will provide these services to you for a fee.
